How to Stay Motivated During Your Weight Loss Journey

It can be quite difficult to keep this motivation up once you start your weight loss process. Slimming down is a process of compliance and discipline that takes place gradually over a long time. What many people are able to do at the beginning of the process is get motivated and set lofty goals only to plateau and withdraw as the process progresses. Still, when the motivation is low, tools are at your disposal that will help you drive yourself towards the goals you set.

Define Your “Why”

A good thing for one to do to avoid Los was making sure that there is a clear understanding of the “why.” Your why is a description of why you have made the decision to lose weight. It’s the most important of all of them, as it is the reason you have embarked on this quest in the first place. Labelling it like this gives you something to focus on whenever you feel like you’re losing steam.

So spend some time to get to right perspective on why weight loss is important to you. Are you interested in a healthier lifestyle? Fit into old clothes? Feel more confident? During the times when you feel your motivation to learn is unraveling, it is therefore important to note the emotional and mental gains which brings back the motivation. Condition these reasons and write them below somewhere that you can quickly see them whenever you need to feel inspired.

Break Down Big Goals

Big goals developing tiny, concrete daily objectives can frighten you and you can lose the driving force to push throughout the day. That is why it is important to have portions of difficult or large goals, for instance, losing 30 pounds, to make it easier to achieve them. They help you have something less intimidating to work with when the pressure hits in the moment.

For instance, you may have goals such as shedding 5 pounds in a month, following a diet plan to the letter for a month or one month to a 5K run. The completion of these goals feels good and makes the overall goal attainable because they take small steps to reach what is on their list and make progress towards them.

Hold Yourself Accountable

Motivation plays a very crucial role in the process of decision making and the worst thing you can do to yourself is to make excuses when motivation soon becomes a scarce resource. That’s why practicing accountability works the magic of getting you back on track. Accountability works when your motivation comes from within is not enough to push you harder. Some ways to build in accountability include:

Get your goals and your progress to others, whom you like and to who likes you and to who you can explain things well.

- Obtain an accountability partner with whom you report for progress weekly

- Attend a group meeting or follow an online forum for weight loss.

Get a fitness instructor, diet plan consultant or even a life coach

Achieve goals – Use an application to record these habits and the progress being made.

Use the hashtag #MyJourneytoFrankenLocation and tag @franken-location on resealable/closed social media platforms to share your story.

If you know other people care enough to follow up and see whether you’re still on track, the desire to go astray will not possess you.

Track Progress With Data

A clear and vivid evidence that efforts are bearing fruit motivates someone to go on with the practice. That is why certain metrics associated with your weight loss efforts is something that can be fly in terms of motivation. Some important data points to track over time include:

- Your weight

- Body measurements

- Before and after photos

- Body fat percentage

- How your clothes are fitting

They use such exercise figures as number of miles covered or pounds lifted

_ Follow diet and exercise regimes

Gathering such information for days, weeks, and months reveals how you are improving towards your losing weight goals. On paper what is presented is effective in warding off a bad case of the doubts and get back on track.

Visualize the Future You

When you start to lose your sight on the goals then it is good to take time and picture the version of yourself that comes with the new body after the weights loss. What does the soon to be you sound like and feel like? Losing weight has influenced the health, confidence, relationships or abilities in which way?

I would like you to use five minutes to visualize the best self you that have achieved all the targets you set.  Use this vision to saturate your subconscious mind and do your best to live every bit of being at your desired weight. There is something about this mental imagery that stirs new energy and passion to keep pushing forward in achieving other weight loss goals.

Find an Exercise You Enjoy

Feeling as if you are forcing yourself to go and exercise is one of the worst feelings that you can have when training. You think that absolutely hating the exercise component of your weight loss program is going to make it easy for you to maintain in the long term. That’s why it’s so important to make an effort and look for physical activities that you will like and loose interest, doing things that I hate.

Try cycling, hiking, boxing, dancing, rock climbing or swimming and find what exciting workout methods you prefer. Having fun moves to move forward will make it so much easier to stick to the routine you have in place. Also important is the variation in the activities and exercises which one engages in so that at no one point they get bored.

Track How Far You’ve Come

I always encourage people to remember that even when your motivation lacks vigor remember how far you have come. We lose sight of the goals and find it easy to only concentrate on how far we have to travel and not have regard for how far we have come. Take a few moments to review accomplishments which you have already achieved. What good habits do you now possess? How many pounds have you lost? The new opportunities that a change in preferences makes possible, all sorts of activities which could not be performed before.

Getting to see the realities of which hurdles you have crossed gives you the strength that those that are on the next level, you too shall cross them. Hear this, there shouldn’t be any attempts to deny or minimise that progress now that there is more work ahead. Remember to pat your back for every single effort that you have make in the right direction.

Make It Fun

The research reveals that the first fundamental practice of motivation sustainability is caring about the task at hand. It needs to matter. Thus, the only way to make yourself enthusiastic about baing slim is to make the process enjoyable and providing. Try to introduce slight changes, fun and happiness into one’s life.

Perhaps, you start playing recreational sports, and while realizing that it might mean being part of a team striving for something common. Or you register for a 5K mud run, and then you accept that the joy in the process is the utter preposterousness of getting low and then pulling your body through obstacles that are covered in dirt. Or you go for a Zumba exercise class and wait for the nice music and the subsequent dancing steps. It is important to include fun in your fitness regime to ensure that it can run for a longer time.

There’s no question that staying motivated on a long, winding path to losing weight is not an easy task. However, planning a behavior that will enhance your motivation and interest on the course helps one to achieve targets for successful outcome. Narrow down your purpose, dissect your goals, integrate plan check points, document your advancement, imagine your fitter self, select desirable workouts, recall your progress, emphasize on fun factor. Implementing such steps will assist one in sustaining the required motivation towards the success of his/her weight loss mission.
